George Washington

George Washington was one of the greatest historical figures of his time. His selfless service made him one of the greatest commander and chef. The evidence can be seen though the numerous bills he signed to benefit America. Although you can’t put every great thing George Washington has done in one page. I am going to attempt to explain the most important acts that affected our great nation.
George Washington, our first president was born in Westford Moreland Country, Virginia on February 22,1732.George Washington’s parents were Augustine and Mary Ball Washington . Augustine owned a planation and was successful at running it, but a tragedy struck the family and he passed away. After his past, Mary took over the responsible of the planation while taking care of five children. Education was a big deal for the family; George Washington was home schooled but due to the death of his father, his whole family was forced to help their mother with the planation. George Washington had five brothers and one sister and their names were Lawrence, Augustine, Samuel, John Augustine, Charles and Betty Washington. George Washington copied The Rules of Civility, a guide that helped him become a gentleman at the same time he looked up to his brother for advice. George Washington had an early career; he was a surveyor at the age 15. His first surveyor job was to survey instruments. Then when George Washington was 16 he went with Lord Fairfax’s surveying party on their first expedition into wilds of western Virginia. George Washington was married on January 6, 1759 to Martha Dandridge Custic. When Martha was married she had two kids named Jacky and Pasty, so that meant that George Washington had two step children. After they got married George Washington was elected for president by 69 members of the congress. George Washington didn’t even want to be president he was elected because he won

    George Washington acted in the best interests of America. He was revolutionary war hero who was elected unanimously for president (O.K.). As the president he needed to set precedents that first made the office respected. He took others’ advice, and as a result was well liked and trusted (Doc. 1).
