Fitness Based Project
I have greatly enjoyed working on the Fitness-Based project this summer. It was very rewarding to see my progress over time. I’m very happy I achieved my goals. Thank you for all your help in the process. I chose the activities I did because they fit in with my everyday life. I play tennis often, so it seemed like a convenient way to get cardio time. I also chose the Fitology classes because they were very consistent and I could get an hour of time with each one. I am happy with my activity choices. Although, I feel I could have improved my mile time even more if I had incorporated long distance running into my activity list. I often used the Principle of Overload in my activities. For example, in my Body Pump classes I would use more weight on the bar than my body is used to. Sometimes I would push myself to do more pushups than normal. In addition, I tried my …show more content…
In the beginning of the program, I didn’t have the correct footwear for the running intensive cardio classes I was doing at Fitology. I had to invest in better shoes so that I would not get hurt. Although this summer hasn’t been overly hot, there were days that were. Unfortunately, I was playing tennis on many of those hot days. I had to monitor how my body was feeling and be aware of my hydration levels. I would encourage someone starting a fitness program to make sure they have the right gear for the exercise they are doing.
I have learned a lot from this experience. One of the most important things I learned was that fitness is fun. I always feel good after exercising. It’s incredibly rewarding. I also learned that when I set goals and I work really hard, I can achieve them. I’m going to continue to implement physical activity into my life. I’m going to be able to do 20 unmodified pushups. I’m going to continue playing tennis for as long as I can because not only is it great for my body, it makes me

I have always strived for my best in everything I do. I never accept failure; however during my sophomore year of high school, I was put through a difficult challenge. I have always dreamt of becoming an athletic student but I have always never gotten a chance because of my discouragement that I would not make the team. In my sophomore year, I decided to try out for the tennis team. I was confident of my status as the new athlete in the Dominion High School tennis team. After the week long try outs, I was given the disappointing news that I had not made the team. I was very disappointed but that did not stop me from continuing to work hard and work on my mistakes. Throughout the summer, I practiced with former Dominion High School tennis players…

Through research, I have discovered that Jade, a person of white ethnicity, prefers to play volleyball while Caralyne, a girl of Asian descent prefers to participate in soccer. In the inaugural post for this blog, I want to start by covering the simple philosophy I have followed my entire life. If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything. Although this theory applies to everything we might encounter throughout life, it is my belief that it is particularly relevant in the fitness world. Whatever your mind set has been in the past, abandon it for the notion that you can do whatever you are willing to work for.…

When at the age of five, my parents began to experiment with and place me in many different activities. The first activity was gymnastics, which was a complete failure. The gym instructor would lift my body to the high bars so I can get a feel for it and in that moment I knew it wasn’t for me. The second activity my parents decided I should try next was track and field. Track was fun at first, I actually like to run and I was pretty fast, I believed. When I joined the track team the season was going to begin soon only giving me three weeks to prepare myself for my first track meet. I trained for a while thinking I was decent ready for what life has to throw at me, then the day of the track meet arrived.…
