I myself focused my presentation on McNamara’s first lesson in the movie which was “Empathizing with your enemy.” In this lesson I learned how beneficial it could be to see from the enemy’s point of view. In the movie McNamara revisits on the Cuban Missile Crisis and how a huge catastrophe such as a nuclear war was prevented. Soviet Union’s secretary of the communist party Khrushchev, and United States President Kennedy where in the center of this. Both members were very aggressive at the beginning, since neither of them wanted to look weak in front of their country. Luckily a guy named Tommy Thompson was in Kennedy’s corner and encouraged him to not invade Cuba in order for Khrushchev to be happy and not attack.
