I personally had thought I played my best at wide receiver maybe I was wrong. Knowing that I played good as a quarterback lit up a new light in my head it had also made playing at ninth street one hundred times more exciting.
John and I did not care about the weather we would go to ninth street almost everyday after school. We would practice as if we were being drafted into the National Football League. The craziest weather condition I have ever played in was about ten degrees and snow blanketing the field. The snow made it hard to get traction so running fast and being agile were pretty challenging. On top of those being challenging the snow that covered the ground made it freezing cold to get tackled we called this inspiration to stay up! Celebrating touchdowns was a blast in the snow.
The Chiefs winning streak kept increasing and so did our motivation and love for the game. John and I would watch plays of Travis Kelce and Alex Smith and we would kinda imitate what they were doing. Along the way we found a friend who loved the game just as much as we did he would end up staying and practicing with us his name was Jose. We ended up giving Jose the nickname “Blueberry”. The reason we nicknamed him bluberry was because he was wearing this big blue shirt one day and tackling a lot of people one of us said Blueberry and it kinda just
