Abstract
Managing an organization today, implements four different functions. These four different functions can benefit or hinder an organization, depending on how they are used. These four functions are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. To run a successful business you must know how to effectively incorporate these functions into your own organization. These four functions will each have a different purpose in benefiting my restaurant business. By learning how to plan my goals in advance, organize these plans into human, financial, physical, and informational divisions, leading the workers of my business by motivating them and controlling every aspect of my business, I would be on my way to running a successful restaurant.
The Four Functions of Management The first step in acquiring my business would be to plan. I must make a clear agenda on how to execute my business in order to get a loan from the bank. Without a clear plan, the bank will see no reason in giving me a business loan, and the chances of having a successful business will lower. Unlike other businesses I would like to offer my customers something other restaurants do not offer. In order to exceed other restaurants, I must first check out my competition and learn from them. I will analyze the other restaurants strengths and weaknesses and incorporate the good, while rooting out the bad. The quality, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant will play a huge role on how I plan my restaurant to be. The way I plan will be a huge benefactor in the ultimate success of my business.
The second step would be to organize. Smooth management requires great organizational skills. One task I would need to accomplish is organizing a way to attract customers to my restaurant. In order to attract customers, I will organize a grand opening event and offer great discounts to my
