From the case of Fran Hayden Joins Dairy Engineering , it imply that every employee in the company like Fran should understand how to perform a basic job as a office clerk in the company . In the case, she getting trained from the really basic level to higher level. She was assigned to join the management information system for training which cause lack of motivation. She has been receiving verbal abuse from her boss which has caused her performance outcome to drop
Why did the problems/issues occur?
When Fran first accepted the position of assistant cost accountant at Dairy Engineering Ltd., she was expecting to gain practical experience in the field of accounting and a higher starting salary. Thinking it’s the right step to take on in her young professional career, soon after, she realized that binding and pinching paper wasn’t the work she was first hired for. She must have begun to experience frustrations and dissatisfaction from the job she doesn’t desire. Peter, Fran’s boss, started a relationship with Fran that is based on mistrust and no support system which demotivated Fran, causing her to have no interest in arriving to work on time, producing a high quality product, or simply completing her daily tasks.
Moreover, Fran finds it hard to be motivated from her current job position, finding it boring, entirely clerical, and not requiring an undergraduate degree. Her performance level has drop even though her tasks may not be demanding. Furthermore, her role perception is unclear; Fran was hired to do more accounting work than binding work, which isn’t the case in this situation.
