"Friends of a Feather... Stick Together
I wonder what type of friend are you? Are you the friend that gets out your bed at night to rescue me when I’m stranded? Maybe you are the friend that buys me food when I’m hungry.
Sometimes, I have to think if I had any good friends or if there weren’t none. On certain days, I would sometimes hang out with friends that I barely talk to. Friends always come and go from what I been taught. My friends are determine based on personality, style, and much more.
Sometimes, I don’t see the true side of a friend until later down the line. I always observe my friends so that I know what category to place them in. According to Judith Viorst’s “Friends,
Good Friends, - and Such Good Friends, “there are at least three categories of friendships based

on levels of intimacy.

The friendship that requires the least amount of interaction is the special-interest friend. Jeremy

would be considered my special interest friend. We don’t have much in common and we don’t

talk on the phone. We only be around one another when going to Maxwell Air Force Base. The

only time we meet up is when we going to play basketball or shop. Some things we would share

together would be music, sports, and name branded clothes. So many times we stopped talking

and lost contact as well. On random days I would get a surprise message from Jeremy wanting to

go play basketball and shop as well. We enjoy sharing the little things we both have in common

with one another. Jeremy would push we away because of his attitude, that he would have

constantly. Even though we share special interests, we will never be as close as I am with others.

A friendship that is a bit more intense is the historical friend that I have. Dequan Thomas would

be considered my historical friend for the many things he know. When Dequan and I converse, he

reminds me of when I bit the principal in the second grade. We use to always hangout at school

and at the parks we shared

One strives to find an individual to be able to connect on an intellectual and emotional level. The prime definition of a friend, defined by Google is, “a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection.” Despite there being a concrete definition, friendship has no terminology because everyone’s view on it is distinct and miscellaneous. The pure definition of friendship is defined on one’s own notion. In The Things They Carried, Rat Kiley and Curt Lemon had a bona fide friendship that was equivalent to no other friendship. Mark Fossie and Mary Anne Bell also had a friendship that was beyond than just a friendship. Both relationships were so complementary but yet contradicted each other sufficiently.…

Are we just former friends, hero friends, or just family friends? Well, we all have different social groups we like to spend time with. Where do I start with the many memories we've shared. Whether they where at school, on the softball field, or even on the basketball court in elementary. I grew up playing sports with you, with your parents as my coaches. I remember in our elementary school days, you would bring a lunchable every day and I would eat the school lunch, and on pizza days you would trade your candy for my pepperonis. Everyone knew how much you loved pepperonis and Coca-Cola. Even while playing parks and rec softball on the hottest days of the summer, while everyone was chugging Gatorade or water, Tab would be drinking coke, with her hair down, in the scorching hot lol. We use to beg tab to put her hair in a ponytail but she would never do it lol I remember the…

I have had a very tough, not easy, no help life, and yet I’ am always the first one to lend a helping hand to someone else. I volunteer at my local church to clean up local areas, I volunteer at the nursing home entertaining and accompanying the elderly, I also do some volunteer work at a local animal shelter. When you come from a place where no one has really ever helped you achieve or even move forward you become one of two people. The person who is bitter and will never lend a helping hand, or the person who never wants someone to go through what they have been through in life. I’ am person number two. I have experienced a lot of tragedy, disappointment, and rough times in my life. For being so young it is difficult to take it all in, yet I still know how to help when help is needed. If only there was someone to have the same mentality as me, and help when I needed it. There should be more people out there willing to lend a…

The roots of the Civil Rights Movement date back to the 19th century; however, it wasn’t until the last half of the 20th century when there was a rapid expansion of civil liberties and rights in America, that it actually caught the attention of many. Through 20 years of civil unrest we saw many such as Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks, take part in the cause; alongside Supreme Court rulings they contributed heavily to the movement’s tremendous gains. There were White people that joined in with African American men and women to organize and lead the movement at both national and local levels. I think it is important to understand that those apart of the movement pursued their goals of equality and freedom through legal means,…
