“Footbridges”

Observations Our designated areas are the footbridges stretching along the Centermall area to the Igorot Park. These footbridges were built not only for the safety of people but also to maintain goodflow of vehicles underneath it. When we checked and cleaned, we observed that these pathways are not much maintained and cleaned regularly. The said footbridges have actually roofs to allow people to pass through even if it’s raining, but because of poor maintenance, some parts of the bridges are actually flooded especially during strong rains which makes some passers uncomfortable. We also observed the vandalisms on some of the bridges caused by irresponsible individuals and the trashes scattered on the pathways and mini-flower beds. We also obeserved that there are illegal vendors and musicians on some of the bridges that causes over crowding especially on rush hours.

Despite of the negative things mentioned, we observed some positive ones. First is the police force scattered on the overpasses that serves as guards to the people and guides. Another are the mini-flower beds that also beautifies the bridges and at the same time comforts some people who appreciates them.

Most of all, the renovation and continuous maintenance of the footbridges to insure secured and comfortable passage way to the
