2.One of the cliches seen
in western films is that there is usually a gun battle in which the good guy always wins. This is seen in one of the very last scenes in the film. Where Frank Miller has Amy in his grasp with a gun to her head. Amy then distracts Frank long enough for Kane to get a clear shot of him.
Another cliché commonly seen throughout westerns, is the background setting or the landscape. Most western films have some type of desert or mountains in the background. An in the desert landscapes, they usually hold this one lone town in the middle of nowhere. This town also casually happens to have railroad going through it as well, to show that it had once been a busy town.
3.Will Kane represents quite a few of the stereotypical manly characteristics. Instead of fleeing when he had the chance to give his Marshall badge to Harvey, he decides to stay and fight. He is determined to see this fight till the very end. Another thing he does, is when the other deputy refuses to fight because no one else will be fighting alongside them, Kane decides to confront the four criminals by himself. When the young boy and the town drunk decide to volunteer to help him, he tells the boy no and he should go home. He then tells the town drunk, he will "call" upon him if he is needed. He does not call him or accept either of their help, because he does not want to see either of them die, while they were just trying to help him.
