Food and Nutrition Managers work with dieticians in meal planning. They manage the kitchen staff and the functions of the kitchen in the long term care facility and hospital setting. They understand the diet and nutritional needs of the patient keeping in mind their health condition. They make sure the standards of nutrition and food hygiene are met. They also do the budgeting of kitchen inventory.
Dieticians counsel and help clients in making changes in their diet as per their medical condition. In a hospital setting, they assess client’s nutritional status and make diet modifications to ensure health and safety standards are met. They teach and advice clients about good food habits, how to follow a balanced diet which is replenished with vegetables and fruits. Pharmacists assist clients with drug consumption, dosage information, and how to consume the medications. They dispense medications as ordered by physicians; ensure the correct dose is given; educate clients about the efficacy of medications and method of taking the medications.
