INTRODUCTION
GEO Television Network is part of Pakistan’s largest media conglomerate, Jang Group of Companies. GEO has witnessed unprecedented success and has indisputably dominated Pakistani media for the last 9 years. Mir Ibrahim Rahman known as "MIR" is the CEO of GEO TV. He is the elder son of Pakistan's most powerful person and media tycoon, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman. He is one of the youngest CEOs to head a channel.
GEO takes pride in providing the information, news, entertainment through its 4 different channels - GEO News, GEO Entertainment, GEO Super, Aag and 5 international beams to its local and international audiences In its successful journey of 9 years GEO has won number of awards on its programming, creative work, quality of work, gender sensitivity and many more from local and international bodies. And this is only possible with the support and efforts of around 2000 Team GEO members. Representatives of GEO TV Network are located in 6 countries which includes 41 cities. Different channels of GEO can be watched all over the world.
GEO News is news and current affairs channel by GEO Television Network. GEO TV was established in 2002 and in 2005; two separate channels were carved out of it: GEO TV and GEO News.
GEO News is the first channel to provide round the clock news coverage in Pakistan. It has been described as the CNN and BBC of Pakistan due to its enormous news network within Pakistan and all over the world. With over 140 reporters and cameramen stationed throughout the country, Geo TV has the full infrastructure support of the Jang Group's 658 countrywide reporters/ stringers/ correspondents network, Pakistan's leading print media group. GEO has its main station bureaus located in all major cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta. It has a single person reporting units in almost 22 locations throughout the country.
