Most people believe that George Washington was the very first President of the United States. On the contrary to that belief I feel inclined to inform you, that George Washington was definitely not the first President of America. During the American Revolution the U.S Congress appointed Peyton Randolph to be President over America at that time, and we all know that George Washington was serving as a Major General. Regarding this information, Mathew Santoro sheds some light on the topic: "He [George Washington] became America's first popularly elected President, first President under the New Constitution. Yes.     No other presidents accomplishments can compare to the fact he was the greatest founder of the United Sates. The most noteworthy accomplishment is that he was the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Though no major and glorious battles were won, knowing full well the colonies were at a disadvantage, he strategically waited out the war making it to cost effective for Britain to continue while also eventually gaining Frances aid. He was then unanimously voted the first president of the United States. He himself decided that the title would be called “Mr. President”. After his first term, he was elected again unanimisouly.
