The study is limited to the selected poems of E.e Cumming and Gertrude Stein’s poems. E.e.cummings poems are “snow”, “in-just”, “go (perpe) go” and the poems of Gertrude stein are “new”, “study nature” and “chiken”.
Research question:
1. What types of deviations have been used by E. E. Cummings and Gertrude Stein in their poetry, and how the poetry of both poets is different from each other in terms of deviations?
2. Whether E. E. Cummings has followed Gertrude Stein’s use of deviations, or he introduced his own perspective of deviations?

Methodology:
Based on research questions and objectives, this study would be qualitative in nature. The foregrounded elements would be collected and classified. The classification would be based on the foregrounding theory of Geoffrey N. Leech. Poems would be analyzed one by one.
