GLOBAL PEACE FESTIVAL 2013
Nueva Ecija High School
Character- Based Education School
Narrative Report
INTRODUCTION
The Global Peace Festival Foundation has been succeeded at the Nueva Ecija High School wherein lots of foreigners and local communities are gathered in such prestigious event. It was made possible by the NEHS Values Education Department last November 18, 2013. It was followed by an All Lights Village Project held at Palayan City.
The Global Peace Foundation supports projects and programs in countries all around the world. These activities are conceived as ‘models’ designed to give substance to the ideal of One Family under God in specific social and geographical areas.
Service puts the values formed in family and community into practice in the wider society. It is a catalyst for personal transformation, fostering young leaders of character who can become agents of social transformation. Service in other countries and cultures develops awareness of and a sense of responsibility for the wider society and world, forming bonds of heart that transcend historic differences.
On the past, Global Peace Festival was a huge success and after so many years, it continuously helps our fellow people who are in need of such reliefs, such lights/electricity and efficient yet low-in-cost machineries to help several people in the community.
Moreover, NEHS took a great and grand opportunity and intensify programs like this. For past decades, NEHS is the number 1 in terms of leadership, competency et al. Students are clarified to the condition that NEHS must be always beyond the boundary. Especially, the teachers who became part of students’ achievement are really the endeavors of modern life.
“Neither race nor religion”- a line from the National Theme Song of Global Peace Festival, which has a very strong sense, and succeeded by the next line- “No barriers can keep us apart”, is a tuneful and educational when heard. No races are being discriminated nor

By doing those things it can impact the chapter and its members. All would be for the best of the chapter. To me service means putting your time aside to help the needs of others. Sometimes it isn’t even their needs, it is just to help them and make them a happier person. One of the service projects that I enjoyed was going to the nursing home and playing bingo.…

In order to concisely put my view of how service should be executed is as Ernesto Sirolli summed up in his Ted Talk , “Shut up and Listen”. In order to truly serve a person must know what the community needs and then figure out how to best provide it. Doing otherwise I believe is imposing yourself or your group on another that you feel is lesser than me. And it's not going to be that successful but rather a hassle for the community. Change and service comes in many shapes and sizes, they can be direct and hands on or indirect. A “good” or “meaningful” service experience may not be going to another country to build houses for week when you have no more experience than creating buildings with your Lego set. Sometimes it's helping cut vegetables at the soup kitchen because it is understaffed or providing the funds for the community to help…

Ms. Placencia stated, “There are diverse people in the different classes of the world, along with those stuck in poverty, and when we serve, we understand that we are all the same... some of us are just more beneficial than others.” Community Service forces you to understand the stories of others and break down the borders to be able to work together and build volunteer…

Service is the act of helping or doing something for someone else.
