What did I do to achieve my goal?
The life without an aim is the considered to be the life without any direction. Goal setting helps you to end up where you want to be in the future. Everyone should have goals when they are striving to achieve a specific task. A good example of when goals are important to have is when people attend college. Therefore, I developed personal goals that I considered important in achieving during my time in my English class.
I seemed to ask myself, what do I really want from this class? What am I striving for? First of All, what I exactly wanted was to pass my English course with an A. Besides wanting a good grade as result of my effort and dedication, I wanted to learn how to get involved in my reading, writing and learning. For some reason all of my English classes seemed to always be hours and hours long when in reality it was only one hour long. The fact that I didn't enjoy writing and reading would make the course so much harder and boring. My goal for this past English class was to get involved in the class and find the way to like what I did and enjoy the time and learning while being in there. Effort and commitment were definitely necessary to achieve my goal. It was not easy to stay concentrated and understand everything right away; I had to try different methods. Learning doesn't stop at the classroom's door. Consistence and dedication were even harder due to my work and personal schedule. I didn't want to dedicate my little spare time to a subject I quite didn't like and enjoy. I always kept on thinking and pushing myself to actually do my homework. It all requires time and patience. Step by step, Little by little I started finding the good side, the “good taste” of reading and writing. Participating in class and giving a Little more of me into the class

Without goals you have nothing to work towards. Some of the goals I have set for myself this year are to get into a high school program. The programs I would like to be in are Computer Science at Freehold Boro, Medical Science at Freehold Boro, or International Baccalaureate program and Freehold Township. I plan on achieving this goal by studying hard, getting good grades, and always striving for more. Another goal I have set for myself is to make the playoffs this year in football. I plan on achieving this goal by working hard at practice and getting all my teammates to work hard also. If I achieve these goals I think I will have an even more honorable…

A dream is impossible to accomplish when there is no plan in place to achieve them. Setting goals can be beneficial in getting one step closer to achieving dreams and aspirations. For example, it’s like watching a flower grow. When you grow a flower you need the container to put the flower in. Prepare and sterilize the container. Next add the soil in and then plant the seed. Water the plant, make sure the plant gets as much sunlight needed for it to survive. Slowly but surely with the proper plan and care your flower starts to bloom. Goal setting is the container, it’s the base to what you want to achieve in life. Sterilize your container, is just like writing down those dreams. Place the soil in, add water to your ideas, and actually take the time to bring sunlight and action in accomplishing your dreams. Students should create goals because; making progress in something helps motivate yourself in believing that you can achieve your dreams. Otherwise your dreams and aspirations are nothing more than vague ideas moving around in your…

English has always been one of my worst subjects. I would always second guess myself on the correct writing method and what punctuation to use and when to use it. Taking this English class has allowed me to analyze and reflect on my work. My first essay I received a B grade. An option to revise the paper for a better grade was given. This allowed me to see my errors and correct them for improvement. The second essay was my interpretation of the story “Hills Like White Elephants.” Surprisingly there was instant improvement on that assignment. I had received an A grade without any revision needed. That felt really good to know I had the potential to do better. That was my motivation getting through the semester. The progress in my work does show, except on essay #4. I had written a lot of fragment sentences which brought my A work down to a B paper. Honestly I didn’t really take time on that assignment. It was typed up the night before it was do and that was sloppy on my part.…

During my freshman year of highschool, I was determined to keep my grades high and obtain a 4.0. As the first semester of 9th grade ended, I possessed all A’s and performed well on my finals. Then, as semester two quickly came to an end, I ended up with all A’s except for one class: World History. Finals came around and my grade became low in that class and my chances of getting the 4.0 I dreamed of became slim. I needed to receive higher than a 96 percent on my final to get an A in the class, which seemed almost impossible. I thought to myself that I need to study really hard for this final if I want to start off highschool with all A’s. Also, I prayed very hard and kept faith that I would be able to accomplish this challenge. Therefore, I studied every little detail from every notes, homework, and worksheets that I had received all semester. In…
