I envision myself working with prekindergarten students. For the reason, that I love and enjoy this age. The kids are at an age where they are full of questions and desire to learn about their environment. I would truly enjoy being someone who encourages them and leads them to new discoveries. The children will be looking at me for answers and encouragement. For that reason, leadership is a skill that I will have to exemplify every day in my classroom and when holding conversations with the guardians. Being able to communicate clearly my goals and the process in a professional behavior to the guardians will be helpful in creating a strong relationship with them. Professionalism in the workplace is important to me. For the reason, that I want …show more content…

Staying on track no matter the difficulties that I may encounter will help me lead the children to their full potential. Patience is crucial when working with children. Having the patience to really listen to them and answer their questions will motivate them to ask more questions and learn while doing so. Additionally, I have to remain patient no matter how chaotic the classroom may become. I need to be able to keep my head straight, a smile on my face, and stay focused on what is occurring. I am a strong believer that children should be treated with respect and fairness. I will treat all my students with the utmost respect and fairness. No matter their circumstances, my care for each of them will be the same. Being a great listener and supporter will allow them to know that I am truly there for them. Another skill that I will have to work on is my preparedness. Preparing my curriculum and my class in a timely manner. Also, always being prepared for anything that may happen. 1.1) In my setting, establishing a respectable, professional relationship with the children is very important, as it will give you the attention and respect you require, when you require it. There are important skills you need to be able to build this relationship. Patience is a key skill needed when working with children. Some children can work at slower levels than other children, which may lead them to become frustrated with themselves or the situation. If the child is attempting to explain their work to you, then you must take your time in listening to them because if you begin to interrupt, then this may cause the child to become aggravated and frustrated. Learn to be patient and listen to them until they have finished telling you what they want to tell you. Another important attribute is always give a smile when you see a child. If you show the child that you are friendly and approachable, then you will instantly create a good relationship with the child, which can then be built on. If you appear angry and unfriendly, then the child will try to avoid any contact with you or will just stay quiet when you ask them a question. Linked into this attribute would be humour. Children love laughter and it can also help increase their attention span during lessons, as the children will be concentrating on what you say, just in case you say something funny. Building a good relationship with the children also has a serious side as they will begin to feel comfortable coming to you if they have any problems. It could be from issues with their school work, to something more serious and personal. In situations like this, you must be able to empathise with the child. Show them that you understand their issue by repeating what they have told you and ask them what they would like you to do. This will allow the child to tell you what they would like to happen, therefore building a respectful relationship between you and the child.…

It is important if you are working alongside children, that you have a good relationship with them. If you do - this will allow them to learn faster in a healthy professional environment because you have an understanding between you. Respect is another key element. Without it, teaching can be impossible because everything goes in swings and round-a-bouts; you’re causing stress not only for yourself but for the children as well.…

When working within a classroom the children they are taught to call you Miss, Mrs or Mr and your surname so they understand who is in charge and it also shows respect for authority. You need to speak to the children in a way in which they understand for the age range you are working with to explain what they need to do. If the children are being noisy or doing something you don’t agree with you need to use a firm voice to communicate your disagreement with what they are doing and then tell them what they need to be doing. You also need to come up with fun and interesting ways to encourage or make learning easier to understand. Give praise when they have completed a task, answered a question correctly or given information relevant to the lesson in hand. You need to encourage the use of good manners please, thankyou, etc and deter bad manners and behaviour by talking to the child in question and telling them how they need to behave.…

Is Jay Gatsby A Good Man

Jay Gatsby is like the American government – the weak, dishonest, inefficient government we believe to be the best in the world. His individual qualities are ones that, when examined objectively, should be frowned upon. Like the government, we can hate these qualities but love the whole. From the beginning of The Great Gatsby, he is protected by the most influential character; the narrator. Because our first impression of Gatsby is provided by a biased friend of his, our view is skewed in his favor, resulting in overcompensation for his obvious flaws. Gatsby is not a good man, we just want him to be. We so strongly want to believe that he is great and pure that we are willing to look past his inherent qualities, to construct in our minds a…

I provide a positive relationship with the child through daily routines and interactions allowing growth in in their development of self and others. Each morning I ensure that I greet each child and parent when they arrive. In greeting the child I will always address the child by his/her name and encourage the other children to say good morning. I feel this gives the child and parent a sense of trust and security for a safe and secure environment and this acknowledgment makes the child feel special and welcome in the class. In the mornings I also have open centers where the children can go around and greet the other student and to move and work at their own pace. I also find some way to praise the class and each child daily. I provide opportunities for the children to always feel successful and proud of themselves. All children have different rates of development and different personalities. Knowing this can help us be patient. I show children that I really care about them by accepting each child as an individual. I help children with developing social skills, Self- control, problem-solving skills, and the ability to act independently.…

It is also important that we are confident and have the ability to identify and sort out any conflicts with children, young people and adults so that others can trust us. Another principle would be being consistent and fair towards other people as they will at some point need to rely on us; this means to stay professional at all times. We should listen to children and hear what they have to say first before jumping to conclusions and to make sure that a child’s needs are taken into consideration first. Being fair is what adults need as well as children and young people. Staff members in school will need to feel that the workplace is a fair where everyone is the same and expected of as the same level of others and to always keep confidentiality as appropriate. It’s important to show respect and courtesy towards others as adults expect this and young children will need this so that they can extend their skills with…
