Persuasive Essay Final Draft By: Bryan Phillips

People who do celebrate holidays are happier than people who don’t because people who do celebrate get to do the fun things you get to do on holidays like bake cookies. This is why people who celebrate holidays are happier than people who don’t. One reason could be because on some holidays sometimes people get things they have really wanted on certain holidays. So if they get those things they are probably really happy. So that’s one reason why it would make people who celebrate holidays happier than people who don’t. Also the cheer of the holiday probably makes a lot of people that celebrate holidays happy. However, there are a couple other things I’d like to say.

Another reason is just being around your family and friends on the holiday. But if people don’t celebrate a holiday then they don’t have to deal with people and that could sometimes make people happy. But it’s better to spend time with people so you’re not lonely on a holiday. Lastly, it’s good to have friends and family so you just have fun and forget about all the stressful things. Still, there is one more thing I’d like to say.

The last reason is just having fun on a holiday can make you forget about all the work, stress, and people you have to deal with. It’s good for people not to be stressed because that can make them super-mad. Also them being mad can put other people in a bad mood. One thing that is good for the people who don’t celebrate is that they don’t have to deal with decorating and setting up for a holiday. But if you’re done then it’s better to be the one celebrating. So the reasons that celebrating a holiday make people happier than people who don’t celebrate holidays are sometimes you get something you have really wanted on certain holidays. Also, being around family and friends can make people very happy. Lastly, celebrating holidays can relieve you of all the work,

    Happiness Definition

Simply, people cannot be “truly happy” if everything that makes them happy is just material possessions. There will be some individuals that will not agree on this, however, at some point, they will realize that they were lying to themselves. In accordance with Emily Esfahani in her article, “Meaning is Healthier than Happiness,” she explains how happiness without meaning equates to a void in people’s life and might even be unhealthy. To put it briefly, happiness is contributing to society, and caring about others. After all, compassion is what makes up a human being. In other words, happiness does not mean to only receive and have it all with ease. In agreement with Esfahani, this “false type of happiness” is only a sense of feeling good, not exactly as “true happiness,” and usually prolongs for a while. After this sense is over, people return to their feeling of emptiness. On the other hand, meaning means to contribute others or to society in a bigger way. Consequently, this act of kindness boost people’s self-esteem and make them even healthier. As a description, Esfahani describes a study in which people who are happy, but lack meaning in their lives, have the same gene expression as people who are going through harsh times. That is to say, the activation of a stress-related gene pattern is present in a happy, but not necessarily meaningful person while people who have meaning in their lives…

    1. When someone is choosing to take a holiday, the individual’s personality is most likely the biggest motivator for where they want to go and what they want to do on that holiday. If someone if married with children, their ideal holiday might be more relaxed, spending time at a resort on the ocean where you can relax with the family and get a nice suntan. On the other hand, if someone is single and looking for something more adventurous, they might take their holiday to go skydiving or bungee jumping. Also someone might take a holiday to make new friends or even a new partner. This type of person might want to spend their holiday out partying somewhere new, to enjoy more of a social scene.…

Black gold examines the coffee supply chain and follows it back to its origin, Ethiopia, which is the biggest coffee producer in Africa. Ethiopia is also the birthplace of coffee. Harvested and drank for thousands of years, Ethiopia produces some of the world's finest coffee beans. Yet, despite the rise of the coffee industry over the last decade, Ethiopian coffee farmers still struggle to feed their families. There are 15 million Ethiopians who depend on coffee for their livelihood. The movie follows Tadesse Meskela for some time, he is the general manager of Oromia Coffee Farmers, which is a coffee co-op that represents 74,000 coffee farmers in the Ethiopia. In the documentary Meskela shows us the process the coffee beans go through before they leave Ethiopia. Co-ops are common in Ethiopia and in the coffee industry; their job is to bargain power to farmers who are often undercut by coffee buyers. The needs of all the farmers and families are looked after by the co-op, while each farm worker owns a share of what is collectively earned. Often, the co-op can only do enough to keep it's members barely fed, let alone afford luxuries such as health care, education, clothing and clean water. The movie directors often cut back to the hardships in Ethiopia.…

I have listed two good reasons why I like Christmas above all holidays, but the main reason actually is because of the family. See most people have family all over the place so when the holiday comes around they all meet up and they all get full of joy for being able to finally see them again. Another reason why spending time with the family is the best is because you get to hear all of those great stories they tell. These are the main reasons why I like…
