I get a sensory overload as my eyes search for what my noes already is trailing. My mother pulls the warm pan out of the oven while I wait eagerly every afternoon. Nothing will beat the goodness of the sugary texture that melts in my mouth. We have a tradition on the day before Christmas of gathering all of my sibling and decorating cut out cookies. Our cookies are looking better as we get older: however, the mess remains the same.
“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way”, this melody always brings a warm comfort in my heart. They’re countless holiday songs that stay timeless and we nerve tire of hearing them year after year. I also find a sense of tranquility, as I hear the choir sing the angelic, Silent Night. From whimsical to spiritual, the sounds of Christmas enhance the experience each year.
Christmas brings out a certain joy in me. Seeing the same enthusiasm in others makes me realize how wonderful the season is. Hearing the songs that can brighten anyone’s day, and smelling fresh cookies straight out of the oven is just a bonus to the already perfect holiday. Christmas 2015 here I
