Personality is a dynamic and organised set of characteristics possessed by a person, that uniquely influences their cognitions, emotions, behaviours and motivations in various situations. Personality also refers to the pattern of thoughts, feelings, social adjustments and behaviours consistently exhibited over time the that strongly influences ones expectations, self-perceptions, values and attitudes. It also predicts human reactions to other people, problems and stress. The study of personality has a broad and varied history in psychology with an abundance of theoretical traditions, and is very biased on the essential insight that all people are similar in some ways, yet different in others. The major theories include trait perspective, psychoanalytic/psychodynamic, humanism, biological behaviourism, evoluntary and social learning perspective.

He was one of the first people to suggest this point. Each individual has an inner drive or libido that is focused on a particular part if the erogenous zone. In order to have a healthy personality, you need to progress through each of the Psychosexual stages of development which include; the oral, anal, phallic, latency and genital stages. When a person becomes fixated in one of the stages, certain personality traits can be displayed. Will displays behaviours that are often rude and sarcastic, which can be associated with being orally aggressive which is in the oral stage of the psychosexual stages of development. Another example of Will being predominately fixated in this stage is the fact that he must always have a cigarette in his mouth. An oral fixation can be defined in many ways however most of the time and the most common is ‘cigarette lips’.
