Learning outcome (LO1): Understand the relationship between organizational structure and culture.
Deadline: Saturday – Oct, 26th 2013
Task-1
1.1-Evaluate, analyze, compare and contrast the structure and culture for both organizations: Toyota and Google.
Guidelines of task-1:
1. Draw the organizational structures for both organizations
- You should be able to see the differences of the two organizational structures: Tall and short hierarchical structure, narrow and wide span of management, specialization by geographic or functions or something else.
- These diagrams serve as the basis for you to do the following compare and contrast.
2. You need to determine which type of culture they adopt
3. Analyze, compare and contrast the differences of organizational structures and culture between the both organizations
Based on the above diagrams, do the compare and contrast.
- Compare and contrast means you need to find out:
* What are the things similar between the two organizations?
* What are the differences between the two organizations?
4. Evaluate the organizational structure and culture of both organizations (Toyota and Google), you need to come with conclusion you have been arrived at through prove or criticize the organizational structure and culture for both organizations.

Task-2
1.2- Critically analyze the relationship between management structure and culture of both organizations (Toyota and Google), and its effect on their business performance.
Guidelines of task 2:
Based on the structure and type of culture for both organizations which reached its previous task, you need to find the relationship between the structure and type of culture of each organization, and then you need to analyze this relationship critically.

- Assessment criteria 1.2- Explain how the relationship between an organization’s structure and culture can impact on performance of business.
Task -3
1.3- Critically discuss the factors which influence individual behavior in both organizations Toyota and Google, with providing one example at least for each factor.
Guidelines of task 3:
You need to determine the factors influencing individual behavior in both organizations which are: Demographic Factors, abilities and skills, perception, attitude and personality then you need to discuss each of the factors in detail with providing enough examples then you need to come with you personal opinion how we can utilize these factors to enhance individual behavior at work.

- Assessment criteria 1.3- Discuss the factors which influence individual behavior at work.
