The holiday of rebirth. In the ancient pagan world, there was a holiday referred to as Hieros Gamos. This comes from a Greek ‘holy wedding’ or ‘holy coupling’ and refers to a union of a deity with a human. This was done to add to fertility of the land through sympathetic magick.
In my own practice I would use the symbolic form of Great Rite. Although it is mainly meant for fertility in the wheel of life, I feel it can also represent new beginnings. So it can be performed to ensure success in any important new happenings in one’s life. By drawing and combining the energy of God and Goddess, I can use this energy to fuel a positive start of a new career or endeavor.
