law-abiding citizens under control while people breaking the laws have guns since they weren't going to follow the laws in the first place. In this essay I will tell you why gun control is unnecessary and why there shouldn't be any gun control at all. There should not be gun control for those good law-abiding people that would never commit a crime of any kind, such as murder, robbery, or even domestic violence.
Those good people of the United States would have to live their life without personal protection while the real criminals are walking around with guns. A criminal will break the law to own a gun, and the police can't be everywhere at once. That leaves the good people out of luck and left unprotected. Only people that have been arrested or have a record of violence actives for example, murder, robbery and domestic violence should be the people with gun control laws covering them. There should be criminal control, not gun control. In the year 1996 the U.S. Justice Department estimated there were around 660k gang members and almost half so around 310k of these gang members have guns, although gun control laws have already been established in most parts of the U.S. What Happens when those gangs attack good people and they can't protect themselves, good people die. There should not be gun control because even though there are gun control criminals will always have a way to get guns such as through the black market where people make guns and sell them illegally. The vast majority of people buy guns for protection and self-defense along with Hunting depending on what you want out of your firearm. In 1856 the Supreme Courts have ruled that the government does not have a specific duty to protect individuals. In the U.S.
there are about 10 million violent crimes committed each year, and about 3.9 million times victims use guns for self-defense.So without guns to protect people the 3.9 million victims that used a firearm to protect them self could have died or been harmed. Another big reason why gun bans fail to protect citizens is that they don’t deal with the main issue here. The issue behind gun crimes or violence is not the gun by itself, but the owner and operator of that gun. According to many surveys, as of 2010, there were around 300 million guns owned by people in the U. S. Of the 300 million, around 100 million were handguns, and 67% of those gun owners state they used guns for self- defense, 66% stated they used guns for hunting, and 41% for target shooting. During the year of 2008, there were around 436k violent crimes were committed by a criminal who was visibly carrying a firearm . A study conducted during the year 2000 showed that the United State citizens use guns to defend themselves and others around 989,983 times a year. These studies show a variation of different uses for guns, and that they can be used for both positive and negative reasons. It is the operator (owner and who is using the firearm at any given moment) who determines whether it will be used as recreation, like target practice, hunting or as a murder device or as self-defense. Its sad to see the way people in our society now view guns as an awful epidemic, but laws banning guns are missing the whole entire point. Laws can’t make the decision of how the gun will be used only the owner and operator of the firearm can make that decision. It all comes down to the person holding the gun, and that is something a law cannot change. Guns cause many deaths per year, we all know that. But they also save many lives as well. Firearms save around 3.9 million good law abiding citizens like your life every year by self-defense. Only guns in the hands of criminals are harmful and guns in the hands of good people in the United States are used for protection. So I think that everyone has the right to own a gun for their own protection and there should be no gun control laws.
