I have always wanted to become a financial banker and graduate from the University of Houston. After receiving my Associate's degree in banking from Houston Community College, I will decide which University of Houston campus I will attend. Some of my goals in life are to be a good financial banker and to find a good job at the bank. Many people told me not to go into banking because of the economy, but I wanted to go into this profession really like to be a good banker because I’m good in this and I have many experience. The first and most immediate benefit of being a recipient of a scholarship receiving is an award for my efforts, reducing outside pressure and allowing me more time to study. A scholarship would allow me to focus more time on my studies instead of worrying about where the money will come. On a more personal level a scholarship will reinforce my self-confidence strengthen my determination to succeed. I deserve a scholarship because when I came to the United States of America eleven years ago from Egypt; I did not know a word of English. High school was very difficult for me. I did not believe that I would finish or graduate from high school. Because all the subjects were so difficult. I couldn’t understand anything. I felt anxious every time I went to school. I didn’t know what to do because I felt so alone and I had no friends. I kept wondering if I should leave school and go to work or stay at home. I finally told my dad and mom that I could not continue like this and I begged them to let me drop out of school. They asked why and I told them that it was because I didn’t understand the language not what they were trying to teach .it was almost like I was living in another world. However my parents told me that I would still need to learn English regardless of if I left and found a job.
