Crystal, there is Head start centers in many cities for children with low income families, disabilities, and speech issues. This service is free if you meet the income guidelines. I see pros and cons for Head start. I feel this government funded service is misused in some ways because the bus will pick the children up, feed the children, and the employees will care for the children while the parents remain home unemployed. I feel the parents should have to work or attend school to receive the service. This would allow more children to get enrolled for working families who need it.…

An infant/toddler need to learn how to use and manage a relationship internally and externally from their program. The positive and numerous encountered the infants experiences during their life can impact the procedure of how they are able to manage their emotional state. Every person that the child can make a connection with has a role on their day. As soon as a child enters their program they need to feel a sense of welcoming that is warm and loving. Management…

One of the programs that has become famous and it is known to be very effective in early prevention is Head Start. Head Start began as part of Lyndon Johnson’s War on poverty. The program focuses on a holistic approach to help with the many aspects of a child’s life. The program provides comprehensive education, health services, nutritional guidance, parental involvement, and social services to low-income children and their families (Saminsky, 2012, para. 19). The program, although based on income, aims to improve and surpass the intellectual capacity as well as the children’s performance in school. This trial was taken of 157 low-income families that lived-in Bridgeport, Connecticut with children ages 6-36 months that has agreed to participate in the study and were indicated as having numerous risk factors that I listed above. These families were compared to a control group, the control group were listed as resembling the families in the Child First Program in terms of income, demographics, and family characteristics (Lowell, 2011). This study provides strong evidence of the Child First Program the randomized control study provides strong evidence however there are limitations to the study for the reason that it is concentrated in the Connecticut area and the participants volunteered to participate ultimately lowering the evidence to…
People who go to psychotherapy are needing someone helps for manage them. For example, I have three children that I should go to translate for them every week with ECI (Early Childhood Intervention Services). These children parents are willing to accept ECI therapy to teach their children and show them how to manage with their children. Especially, these parents are not educated like American parents so it is make sense that they need help from ECI. These children need help like learning languages, playing toy with education way, and the other one is needing help for walking. Each one needs assistant for different ways, they are not the same. When I start to work this job, I learn many things from ECI like how to help, assist, and manage with…
It’s important that other countries establish a system to screen and service children and families that may need specific intervention. Delaying service or ignoring the need for intervention effect the child’s development. However, these early intervention programs are not formatted after the programs here in the United States, they take many different forms, frequently with different priorities and goals. Sadly, these programs are either unreasonable or unappropriated for children and families. Guralnic, (2008) address the challenges of finding common ground, nations working together, sharing resources to improve community, region and country. Foremost organizer must take into consideration different culture belief regarding the family structure. Many cultures have traditions and roles for each person in the family. Often time it’s difficult for outside agencies to provide services to a member of the family, when the agency is not considering part of the family…
According to the Office of the Administration for Children and Families (2015), former President Lyndon B. Johnson was compelled to implement policy to address concerns about child development after consulting with expert researchers as part of his “War on Poverty” program. Specifically, the aim was “to help disadvantaged groups, compensating for inequality in social or economic conditions”. As a result, the proposed solution is a government program titled “Head Start”. Although the program is noble, it is targeted for low-income families who qualify according to each state’s guidelines and is federally funded (ECLKC, 2013). Unfortunately, gaining access to the Head Start program is difficult for families whose income exceeds the poverty guidelines, yet insufficient to afford private early education services. This, in turn, creates a gap in the low-middle and middle income range families, and the need for fully-funded, compulsory early childhood education. Ensuring children in the public school system have an equitable opportunity to achieve success at the start of their education should be available to every family within the low, low-middle, and middle income standards, not simply for families at or below the poverty…

The Center for American Progress is a reputable source as its founder was the former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton and Obama’s Presidential Transitional director. Although the CAP is known to be a liberal, one-sided organization, it was founded over a decade ago and its statistics can be trusted. According to the CAP, a report proposes a resolution to diminish the achievement gap. This simple solution is universal preschool, making high quality, early learning available for all families. A study shows that going to a preschool of high quality could allow low-income children to decrease their academic gap by 41%, African American children to almost close their achievement gap in reading, and Hispanic students to completely close the educational gap between them and white…
