Stroke is a condition which has a high number of risk factors which can either be medical or lifestyle. A healthy diet will help lower the risks of chronic diseases. Excess weight puts pressure on the circulatory system, making people have an increased possibility of high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes magnifying the risk of stroke. This is supported by Lim and Choue (2013) who discovered stroke patients are less likely to consume beneficial foods, have poorer eating habits and an unhealthy diet.
