Secondly, this model optimizes the potential for an individual to enjoy as high a quality of health as possible. This is achieved through means of prescriptive activities, recreation, and leisure. Prescriptive activities offer control and health improvement. This allows individuals to understand that they can still control portions of their life, and they are not dependent upon their therapist. Rather, the clients can assist the therapist in deciding what activities they want to partake in to improve their health. Recreation component restores physical, mental, and spiritual components of a being. This holistic approach ensures that these prescribed activities are working and promoting the growth of the client and their health. The final component, leisure, promotes the growth of the individual. It is a means to self-actualization because it allows for individuals to expand themselves by using their abilities to meet challenges. All of these components foster feelings of accomplishment, confidence, and pleasure within the individual, which is why I think more success would be brought about through use of this model as opposed to
