Healthcare Team Code Of Conduct
As a member of a group/team, I agree to promote empowered partnerships in the Healthcare Team Code of Conduct. I chose this because I like the idea of promoting independence and mutual growth by applying the “Platinum Rule” (Treat others as they want to be treated, not assuming they have the same desires you do). Whilst competencies can be unpacked as many things, communication, being one of those things, is stressed to be the one that is required in order for the healthcare environment to operate effectively. But, according to The Combined Universities Interprofessional Learning Unit (CUILU), they have identified capabilities to be a better way in reflecting the need to respond and adapt to the changing healthcare environment. ACA goes into more depth about principles that new up and coming counselors and professional should focus on. ACA emphasizes on the cultural context of making ethical decisions. It is important that counselors increase conscious ways to apply ethical standards from a perspective that recognizes and respects diversity, because we work in a pluralistic world (ACA, 2006).…

I began my career in social work, a profession built almost entirely on one’s ability to listen and empathize with those who need help. As a leader, I practice the strategies of empathic listening, working diligently to understand what others are saying. I realize that most of what my followers say comes from their non verbals and their tone, rather than their actual words. Before offering a solution or opinion, I ensure that I understand what they are really saying and try to see the issue from their point of view.…

Professional conduct refers to the manner in which a person behaves while acting in a professional capacity. It is generally accepted that when performing their duties and conducting their affairs professionals will uphold exemplary standards of conduct, commonly taken to mean standards not generally expected of lay people or the ‘ordinary person in the street’.1 The Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia is supported by the Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia. This Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses sets the minimum standards for practice a professional person is expected to uphold both within and outside of professional domains in order to ensure the ‘good standing’ of the nursing profession. These two companion Codes, together with other published practice standards (eg competency standards, decision-making frameworks, guidelines and position statements), provide a framework for legally and professionally accountable and responsible nursing practice in all clinical, management, education and research domains.2 The support and assistance of Royal College of Nursing, Australia and the Australian Nursing Federation in developing this edition of the Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia is acknowledged. In considering this Code and the Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia, it should be borne in mind that they are designed for multiple audiences: nurses; nursing students; people requiring or receiving nursing care; other health workers; the community generally; employers of nurses; nursing regulatory authorities; and consumer protection agencies.…

This document is imperative to our profession because it encourages pharmacist to work with all providers to improve the well-being of patients in the long run. Because each provider specializes in different areas, they can come together to fully assess the patient, and make plans to improve his or her health. I believe teamwork is very important in an individual’s health treatment and improvement. In addition, teamwork will bring all providers together so the patient sees them as one instead of separate. I sometimes hear people say that they only listen or trust to their doctors or pharmacists, and that may cause some conflict. In my opinion, this document may decrease such division because of communication. When both providers and pharmacists…
