Helen Monologue
I had been upset for a week long about all the drama that had been happening in my suite. The trash hadn’t been taken out, plus Halloween had just passed and there was still dried paint in the sink from one of my roommates that had dressed up and went out with her boyfriend. I remember having told the RA’s about all of it because not only was I sick of the trash not being taken out with ten girls living together, but I knew that our suite’s cleaning lady, Helen wasn’t happy about it either. I felt bad for her because the poor woman had other suites to clean and I didn’t feel like it was fair for her to have to walk into our suite every Monday morning to find overflowing trash that she was responsible for taking out. I heard someone come through …show more content…
Yeah, I did infact. You wanna know why? Because I’m appalled not only by how you would leave paint in the sink since Halloween, but also how poor Helen comes in here every Monday and always has to take the trash out when there are ten of us living here. What are you guys, in preschool? No, I don’t think so. That’s why I told the …show more content…
You’ve can’t deny that you’ve done some things as well. Elicia was in fact just complaining to me that she found her bowl in the kitchen sink with dried cheese in it. And I know for a fact that it was you because I was standing in the kitchen while you were making your chips and dip the other day.
“For the record, I put the bowl in the sink with water so the cheese wouldn’t stick. I doubt it’s ruined” I demanded. I didn’t like that she was accusing me when she didn’t know all the facts.
“Doesn’t matter. She told her she went out and her bowl is now ruined” Erica snapped “So I suggest that you not only apologize to her, but also own up at the RA meeting tonight that you were hypocritical and did something wrong” she continued.
“How about this. If I own up for ‘ruining’ her bowl, you do the same for the paint in the sink”.
“Fine. But Bella, you need to learn that accusing others when you’ve also done things at fault isn’t very fair” she commented.
“Ok fine whatever. I guess we’ll see what happens at the RA meeting” I replied. “Fine” she said clearly still aggravated with me. Just then Kenda, the RA, who was also in my Gamma Sig sorority walked in. Devin, the SRA also walked by.
“Ok enough” Kendra said. Based, off of her response, she had probably somewhat overheard our

When I did get home, the first thing I did was pull that little slip out of my backpack. After handing it to my parents, I looked up at them with gleaming, pouty eyes; they told, on their own, that I had done something that I wasn’t supposed to. When my mom looked at the note on the card from Ms. Anderson about why she had given it to me, she immediately laughed, then proceeded to toss it into the recycling, “No worries sweetie, you didn’t do anything wrong. Was it tasty at least?”…

I wake up to the sound of birds chirping, signaling the oncoming spring. Isn’t it amazing how they know? That just around the bend awaits weather with promise. Charlie and his friend Adam picked me up around noon that day, said that we were going to the beach that evening then we hit the freeway headed towards Portland. After what had seemed like an entire day driving we arrived at Charlie’s step dad Jim’s house to drop off our belongings. When I stepped foot in the house I began to wonder what I was getting myself into, and that I should have stayed home. The house was atrocious. Before we walked in the door we were met with piles of junk on the front porch. After entering the house I noticed that the furniture was strewn all over the room, untidily, and looked as if there had been no one there to clean in months. The kitchen counters were piled full of dirty dishes that were becoming towers of dishes from counter to counter on either side of the sink. The family room had miscellaneous items lying around everywhere and was arranged like no one cared what it looked like. I didn’t go any further because Adam was deadset on going to the beach, and wanted to get going. We put our belongings in the spare bedroom, the smallest and cleanest room in the house so far and…
