Henri Matisse's La Musique By Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse had a remarkable career and is widely regarded as the greatest colorist of the 20th century and as a rival to Pablo Picasso in the importance of his artist contributions. Henri Matisse’s La Musique was painted in 1939 and measures 45 3/8 x 45 3/8 inches. He inscribed this beautiful painting in the lower right corner with his name and year it was finished. While the colors feel very solid, portions of the painting reveal the artist’s fluid brushstrokes, which often move in a systematic direction within the given shape they
