He created this impressionistic painting in 1880 and named the painting “The Seine at Lavacourt”. “The Seine at Lavacourt” provides audience a detailed view of the small village named Lavacourt beside the Seine River.
Artifact Analysis “The Seine at Lavacourt” is an impressionism painting done by Claude Monet. The whole painting does not have clear or strict lines, shapes and edges because these are characteristics of the impressionism painting. Artifact Analysis This art is post-impressionism because the brushwork and the entire painting are clearer than the original impressionism. Art movements include Les Nabis and Fauvism influence Pierre Bonnard artwork (“Pierre Bonnard Biography”, n.d.). Pierre Bonnard combined vibrant color and impressionism brushwork to create the bright background and stand out the subject – the nude woman. The combination of these two elements is the unique feature of Les Nabis and Fauvism.
Personal Interest The bright and vivid background color and the woman’s gesture drew me to this particular piece of art. The brighter color gives people a sense of happiness and that’s why I like it. His painting style is different from the original impressionism, so I want to know the
