Herbert Hoover,he actually became a president and had responsibilities with other presidents in the states.
Introduction
The three topics that are being explained in the passage is how Herbert Hoover became president, his responsibilities, and how the community thought of him as a president. He helped during the Mississippi flood and helped with 120,000 Americans in Europe.
First Body Paragraph
Herbert Hoover was born in West Branch,Iowa and lived near the Mississippi River. But when he was six years old his father died,but then when three years went by his mother also died as well. Then he had to move to Oregon with his aunt and uncle for the rest of his life. When he grew older he married a woman named Lou Henry and in November 6,1928 he was elected president of the United States. Within seven weeks,he took a tour around Latin America and then promised to establish some of the policies.

As a president,Herbert had a painful amount of responsibilities to do with the country.
There were at least 120,000 Americans get back from Europe during the beginning of World War I. After saving the Americans,he decided to help four million people in Belgium and part of northern France get food and it was called the Relief of Belgium. Herbert also invented the American Relief Administration where he fed 17 million people in 21 countries after the war. But then began the Mississippi flood which killed more than 300 people all over town,meanwhile, 600,000 others were taken out of their homes. After the flood,he began to gather different health units to fix everything that was destroyed in the area. When the newspapers came out,the entire story about how he helped Mississippi through the flooding and how he planned everything
out.

The votes for Herbert Hoover were kind of all over the place. Some people thought if you vote for Herbert Hoover that you would end up still in the Great Depression. Others thought maybe he would help the country get pulled out the Great Depression and make sure everyone gets what they need and want. Herbert even said “This is not a showman’s job,I will not step out of character” (this quote was taken from a specific book). But when he wrote his own book about attacking the FDR’s New Deal program and one of the names of the books were “The Challenge to Liberty” and put strong speeches to kind of convince people what the government is doing wrong.
Conclusion
Herbert seemed like he was really trying to put his best efforts into the books and speeches so he can become president. But in the passage was mentioned that he tried to change the policies and pull people out of the depression.
