CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Chapter one presents an introduction to the study. The introduction of the study is divided into six parts as followers: 1. Background of the Study 2. Objectives of the Study 3. Statement of the Problems 4. Scope of the Study 5. Definition of Terms 6. Significance of the Study
1. Background/Importance of the study:
Nowadays, English is very necessary in aviation communication, because English is a universal language. Everyday communication has been created by people all over the world. English language has become the most importance language for communicate. So, English has been required to learn as a foreign language in Thailand for many years ago. It is a significant role and required to use in various fields and occupation English is the language of international business and professionals employed by multinational corporations often need English language training. The technical skills alone aren't enough for job success; the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, to understand others and work with them smoothly, often makes the differences between success and failure, both for individuals and for their organization. As a result, a working knowledge of
English has become a requirement in many jobs such as tourism industry, business careers and others. The listening and speaking skills which are related to some knowledge about their
English development needs and how to improve the communication skill in speaking and listening to help them improve their skills will be discussed. Lastly, English is an international language that is necessary part of our daily life for contacting with people who are different nationalities. 2. Objectives of the Study

This study was designed by using the questions. The data of this study were collected from 30 Thai service staffs out of 20 answering the questionnaires. It has divided into three parts: the first part was general information, the second part was the needs for improving English in listening and speaking and the third part was the suggestions. Lastly, the data was collected at The Platinum Fashion Mall, Bangkok within 2 weeks.
