    What defines a writer’s work? Each writer has their own way of getting their message out to their audience. Each article talks about both sides of the issue and gives their own opinion. While the elements of writing help define each article from each other, they do not define which side is correct. Deborah Tannen’s essay “But What Do You Mean” divided the biggest areas of miscommunication between men and women into seven categories, three of which caught my attention for personal reasons.
