History and it’s Importance

History, some people feel as though its not really and important and some people are the complete opposite. In this case i’m on the side of the people that feel that its importance is major.
Histories importance is major in many aspects. You have a the individual aspect, the family aspect, and the community aspect. You basically can say its the backbone of the future. I feel as though the individual aspect on the importance of history is the second most important. I feel this way because your individual history is what counts. History on an individual standpoint is important because this is what you should know, because it could relate to you, your family, and or friends. its basically the structure of what we are now and what it took to get here.Whether you're an African American or a Caucasian, history is a piece of you whether you like it or not. Next you have the family aspect, the family aspect of histories importance is important because its what brought you together, what made you who and what you are today. Alot of families get their last names from previous slave owners that enslaved their ancestors. this is something that comes from the study of your families history. A family's history is important because without it you have nothing to be grateful for and to represent .

The last aspect i’m going to cover is the community aspect. This only plays a part in the importance because the same town we are walking around in could have been the place of a very important chapter in our history. it could have been a battleground, a plantation, or just the simple birth place of a president or civil rights activist. no one knows, but you you will never know unless you pursue the history. In conclusion history is important because it plays a big role in our life today. Alot of activities that have taken place in the past has given us the

The possibility of having different types of backgrounds that her mother or father may not have known about, really sparked her interest. Throughout her essay she compares her thoughts on genealogy to her thoughts on her ancestors. She believes the reason people seek to find out about their past is for our exploration and for our superstitious minds. We are trying to find out who we are, by finding out who they were. As stated in her article, "The ultimate goal of DNA based on genealogy is to create a universal genetic family tree" revealing exactly how everyone in the world is related.…

Growing up I always dreaded history, I never understood why we had to learn about the past. It wasn’t until a couple years ago that I realize that history is what shaped the world into what it is today and where I stand in this world. As a Mexican living in the United States history has really helped me understand why my family and I don’t have the same opportunity as white people. When I read the first 4 chapters to Lies My Teacher Told Me by James Loewen right away I was able to relate to what he was saying. Being a person of color learning history growing up I noticed that the history books only showed one point of view. A lot of the truth was covered up and that’s why now when I read something historical it’s very important for me to read…

Before talking about my history, I have to say that my ancestral history is what prejudiced in my values as a good human being. From generation to generation, my ancestors passed down values such as dignity, respect, honesty and etc. Without them, I have to say that I would not exist today as a good human being. The American cities included in my history are Rocky River and Lakewood. Those two cities are located in Ohio. All my ancestors were born and lived in India. My history will include 3 generations.…

The Social Explorer maps were helpful with showing me information about the diversity in the US that I did not know, but I did find interesting information about my race. I am a Caucasian. There is a lot of very unflattering information about my race. I knew that we have some advantages but not the extent that we really have. IQ test could also give an advantage to white (Schaefer, 2012). We are still segregating the minority even though the actions are not as obvious as they were in the past (Macionis, 2012). These are just two things that I did not know about my races. We were very domineering though out US history. Many things we did in history were very sad and unnecessary. It is hard for me to say but I am ashamed of my races history. “Racial segregation in the United States began with…

Beginnings are important. Throughout the course of history people have wanted to know their origins. History then matters, not simply because it describes what happened in the past, but also helps people to understand the present and the future. Understanding the world can often be illuminated by knowledge of past events and relationships, in as much as also an understanding of what caused various things to happen in the past can enable people to imagine what the future might hold and how things might be. This ultimately will cause people to gain a strong sense of present and future identity.…
