World War Two was a devastating time in history, where tragic events happened all around the world, one event was the famous, Holocaust. The Holocaust was a monumental occasion I’m sure when many people hear the name Adolf Hitler, they think of a cruel being who took the lives of millions of Jews, the man who starved, gassed, and just plain out shot Jews to death. It’s hard to believe that anyone would do that but those inhumane actions did in fact happen. When you think Holocaust, you think of Jews, but what many don’t know is that not only were the jewish affected. During the World War Two, events like the bombing in Pearl Harbor, the fall of the Japanese Empire, and the start of the Cold War, the Holocaust and World War Two affected many
In a Diary excerpt of Zygmunt Klukowski, a Polish Doctor (October 21, 1942), it explained how Nazis were going around and started to shoot Jews and take them for the concentration camps. What do you shoot people with, a gun. In a diary entry of “Ginger,” a Resident Of Pearl Harbor written on December 7, 1941, by everyday people, it showed that Pearl Harbor was attacked by Kamikaze pilots and there ended up to be 2403 people who died from this attack. What do you blow people up with, bombs. These pieces of evidence both show examples of weapons being used. My point comes from my background knowledge of business. If there were many countries going into war, you would want to up your price on weapons. Since the war was going on, the defense industry bumped up their prices of weapons causing the government to pay more. Therefore World War Two not only affected countries but they also affected the price of necessities for the soldiers to use causing them to lose
Prior to the Holocaust, Germans and Jews lived together as neighbors, close friends, even possibly family members. In a Diary excerpt of Lieutenant Colonel Mervin Willett Gonin DSO who was among the first British soldiers to liberate Bergen-Belsen in 1945 by the Imperial War museum, it states, “One knew that five hundred a day were dying … they had to eat worms to live and now could scarcely tell the difference.” Hitler took the Jews from their homes and sent them to those horrendous concentration camps. Knowing that your friend or relative could be dead or murdered is horrifying, even thinking about what they had to go through with the concentration camps could scar you for a
