In the years before 1905, Russia had been under complete control of the Tsars for more than
300 years. Tsarist Russia was an autocrat, it made a very tough time for the people. The Tsar had supreme power over the country and there were no oppositions that could challenge him.
However, not all people were feeling content of how the Tsar ruled over Russia, therefore, this caused some criticism over the government and it was clear that they hope to change this kind of political system. Therefore, social groups were formed to show their disagreements to the
Tsarist regime. !

The Tsar was extremely powerful that they were the ones to run and keep in control of the country. During these years, all kinds of elections, parliament and political parties were prohibited, the Tsars were the one and only. They were believed to be the representative of
God. It was also said that they were appointed by God in order to rule Russia and therefore, everyone should obey his commands and adore him. However, not everyone seemed happy of what was happening and slowly, people were taking actions towards the Tsars. Despite of this, nothing was able to get in the way of him, this meant that to attempt changing the political system seemed very unlikely to happen at all. !

The Tsar had all the power. He even banned the freedom of speeches. Not only this, but same for publishing books, magazines or newspapers, all of these had to be censored and handled by the government officials and the polices, who had great power and had complete loyalty to the
Tsar. By doing this, the Tsar would then know that they were in control of everything in different aspects of the society. To ensure everything went in the way he wanted to and for everyone to feel loyal to him, he carefully chose the ministers, advisers and Imperial Councils to work for him and to help him in running
