These services often provide food, shelter, beds, and clothing and may be organized and run by community organizations (often with the help of volunteers) or by government departments or agencies. These programs are usually supported by the government, charities, churches and individual donors. One of the major reasons that people are homeless is because of the lack of employment. There are not a lot of opportunities. Although, they lack a lot of opportunities, a lot of people are very lazy and do not like to work. Not all homeless are the same because they all have different situations on why they have become homeless. Some of them have gotten laid off and simply cannot find w a job to support their families. This is all a part of Steven’s Vanderstaaty claim in his book, “Solutions Homeless People Seek”. For those who are worthy of help, we can encourage them to work. A brilliant idea that I found is created by Christopher Awalt. He said: “Offer him a hard day's work for an honest wage, and see if he accepts. If he does, tell him you'll pay weekly, so that he will have to work for an entire week before he sees any money. If he still accepts, offer a permanent job, with taxes withheld and the whole shebang. If he accepts again, hire him.” This idea can motivate the homeless and guide them to go back to the normal life. Moreover, the people who cannot offer a job for a homeless, we need to respect them and we can give them some food or some books. Knowledge is powerful, if we give them some inspirational books, they might regain the confidence and come back to the normal life.…
