HOTEL CONTINENTAL

I. Point of View:

Based on the case, the point of view to be considered is that of Mr. Oscar Mendoza, owner of Triumph Tours, because he has the full knowledge of the problem, and the capacity to implement the decision.

II. Statement of the Problem: What is the best solution for Mr. Mendoza in solving his difficulties in getting hotel accommodations for his tour groups especially during peak travel months?

III. Case Facts (SWOT Analysis)

Strengths * Triumph Tours has its own specific market (tour groups) for hotel accommodations. * Operating peak months during December, January, July, and August. * Mr. Oscar Mendoza is willing to bid for leasing the Hotel Continental. * Triumph Tours has a marketing manager/ marketing team which show that they are experienced in this type of business.

Weaknesses * Mr. Oscar Mendoza experiencing difficulties in getting hotel accommodations for his tour groups especially during peak months. * The travel agency cannot maximize the capacity utilization of a hotel. * Hotel management abilities or skills are low.

Opportunities * Mr. Mendoza has the opportunity to make partnership with hotel owners or rather operate a hotel. * Opportunity to engage in a hotel industry. * Hotel Continental can provide Triumph Tours its hotel accommodation requirements even in peak months, assuming that the agency leases Hotel Continental facilities’. * The hotel occupancy rates are expected to increase because the economic conditions are expected to improve. * Triumph Tours can help Hotel Continental to survive its hotel operations, assuming that the agency will tie-up with Hotel Continental.

Threats * Most of the five-star
