The very attempt of peace is usually shot down quickly as there are wars and conflicts forming constantly. The Middle East is notorious for having countless wars. Some of these wars include the Yom Kippur War, Persian Gulf War, Iraq war, six-day war, Iran-Iraq war, and countless civil wars. These are only a few of the wars that have taken place in the Middle East. With the constant bombardment of wars, there leaves very little room to establish peace. Additionally, war prevents peace in even families. Instead, peace is replaced with fear. There is the fear that a family member will have to go fight, or maybe the war will come to their town. The war brings destruction and disparity in which many can not recover. The war and destruction only add to the ever-rising tension and conflict. Throughout history, the Middle East has been a battleground for different religions. Whether it be the holy wars, prosecution, or simple discrimination against different religions. In history books, there is one battle in particular that every year is hit, the holy wars, and or crusades. It was a battle between Christians and Islam fighting for “their” holy lands. These wars rose tension and corrupted the peace between the two religions. In addition, many people of different religions are being persecuted. In a primarily Islamic area, with ISIS quite prominent it is no wonder that many people have to endure persecution. In fact, quite recently two Egyptian churches were bombed for their difference in religion. These events that have taken place have destroyed peace. Religions are not so fond of each other, so in return, no peace can be created, as they cannot be accepting towards one
