The first of these institutions being the ekklesia, the purpose of this institution being to stand as a sovereign governing body which created laws and acted upon foreign policies. The ekklesia institution relates to our modern-day Congress, which both serve the exact same purposes. The second institution being the boule, which was a council of representatives from the ten Athenian tribes. The boule would relate to our modern-day House of Representatives which alike to the boule represent the people and the representatives trying to bring about change. The third and final institution was dikasteria, which were the popular courts where the citizens disputed cases before a group of selected jurors. This final institution directly relates to our modern-day Judicial branch where there is little to no change from dikasteria. Along with the other sciences Aristotle also was very persistent in zoological sciences where he made many contributions. For example, he observed the anatomy of octopi, cuttlefish, and crustaceans and his findings were remarkably accurate to what we know to be true today. Other Greek zoologists also dissected the animals to study the structure and functions of the various animals as we do today. Afterwards the zoologists had to attempt to classify the organisms and these classifications are used to this day. Without the help of these extraordinary Greek scientists the way we study plants, the earth, and animals would be completely different. They set guidelines for us to follow and without them we would be decades behind on the research that we are conducting today.
