Britain experienced a lot of changes in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. This changes, such as technological and scientifically advancement, were because of the Industrial Revolution. These innovations had a huge impact on society, which brought growth in agriculture and industrial production, and also created changes in living conditions.

Mass production was achieved by replacing water and animal power with new steam powered machinery. The new steam power was a big change for the Industrial revolution. With James Watt´s improvements to the steam engine and Matthew Boulton who worked on the creation of a rotative engine, were a crucial factor for industrial production. Machinery functions became faster without human and with rotary movement. To produce steam which was needed for industry, a lot of coal was needed and became a key factor of the success of industrialization. Mining technology was improved to ensure that more coal could be extracted in need for factories, trains and steamships.
The metal industry developed into one of the most profitable in the country from the late 18th century onwards. The cause was of exported wares increased the flow of capital into the British economy. Copper, iron and steel industries had a lot of impact for the country’s infrastructure and in the expansion of transportation networks.
