How Did Walt Disney Change The World
“If you dream it, you can do it” (Disney). Walter Elias Disney, better known as simply Walt Disney, was born December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois. Born the fourth son of Elias and Flora Disney, Walt had become greatly interested in the magic of art, ignited by his early interest in drawing. He worked as an entrepreneur, animator, and film producer for a company he had originally started with his brother. A pioneer for the American Animation Industry, Disney held the record for most Academy Awards for introducing several developments in productions. Disney, known as a revolutionary figure both in the cinematic world and among people worldwide, changed the face of film and animation, brought imagination to reality, and shared his love and ideas with millions of people around the world. One of his biggest contributions, and one that still continues to astonish the film industries today, is his revolutionary improvements to the use of cel animation. The idea to use cel was a more promising technique that allowed parts in a frame to be repeated in order to reduce labor and better efficiency. He changed the face of film and animation, brought imagination to reality, and shared his love and ideas with millions of people around the world. Starting simply with the interest of drawings and cartoons, Walt Disney took his dreams and started his own business. This business was original with new techniques and ideas like never before. Standing as beacon of hope, he inspired generations to follow their dreams. “Of all the things I’ve done, the most vital is coordination those who work with me and aiming their efforts at a certain goal” (Disney) “Of all our inventions for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understood language”

While he actively engaged in all phases of creation in his films, he functioned chiefly as coordinator and final decision maker rather than as designer and artist.
