Here are a few steps we can all use to improve on this skill. First, we can overcome our more irrational fears. For example, if you have a fear of heights you can do things like zip lines or going to the top floors of buildings. Next, you can use courage to meet new people. Now I don’t mean you have to become a social butterfly, but you could talk to the person next to you in the line when you’re getting groceries. Finally, you can show courage by being kind to the less popular people in your community. For instance, you can stand up for the kid in your school who constantly gets made fun of, or you can make friends with one of the kids in your class who doesn’t have many friends.
