Strategies and Explanations 1. By using the strategy of reading all the definitions of the vocabulary words, it helped me understand the scene because once the words came up in the text I knew the definition.
2. By using the reread strategy, It helped me understand the parts of text that might have confused me at first.
3. By using the strategy reading between the lines, I got a better understanding of how Macbeth won the battles he fought in.

    He secretly takes delight in the promotion to the title of Thane of Cawdor – “two truths are told/as happy prologues to the swelling act/of the imperial theme” (I.iii.126-129). This ambition translates to an immense power that blinds him from moral senses of right and wrong. He reckons that it is his “vaulting ambition which o’erleaps itself” (I.vii.27) and makes him turn indifferent to what “even-handed justice” dictates. This ambition becomes Macbeth’s tragic flaw and motivates him to kill the gracious Duncan, to surprise the castle of Macduff, and to kill anyone who is in his way.
