people still remember until this day. Another person that fought for their rights, and what they believed in is Rosa Parks. She was one of the people that helped change all the racial segregation. She did this by simply not giving up her seat for a Caucasian person on a bus. Parks said, “You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right (Rosa Parks and Civil Disobedience).” In my opinion these are words that everyone should live by. If you know that you can fight for something that will help not only you, but others, then why would you be a bystander and not help out? The last influential person i am going to discuss is Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was also against the racial segregation that was going on in the mid 1900s.He had actually suffered the consequences from going against the segregation along with other people when Rosa Parks had been arrested. He was also arrested. While he was in jail, he said "Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away and the deep fog of misunderstanding will be lifted from our fear drenched communities, and in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty (Letter from a Birmingham Jail- Rev. Martin Luther King Jr)."He had faith that his country would prosper and soon do the right thing as all people are
equal. Overall, everyone has the power to speak their mind and possibly change society's views on things that are wrong. These are just some of the people that spoke up and fought for what they knew was right regardless of the consequences. As Rosa parks and Martin Luther King Jr. said, we shouldn't fear change and everyone in our nation should love each other. If more people like them stand up and try to change the world's wrongs to rights, we could try to make the world as perfect as possible, together. It is all about changing for the better.
