In the United States, things have changed dramatically from the way we see people and the way we live. The United States has changed from small town farm living into a commercial power house that runs the world. I know because I am a born United States citizen and have taken many history classes throughout my life and have read many books about times of yesterday and today. From what I have researched, laws in the US have changed in many ways to help protect every culture, industrialization has made capitalism stronger, and colonization has changed the face of the US forever.

When the United States fist started out there were only thirteen small colonies. These colonies stretched along the east coast because it was ideal for shipping cargo back to Britain to create revenue. Today the US stretches from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Pacific Ocean. The United States did not just want to rule this whole territory for any reason though. The reason why expansion happened so dramatically is because of politics. The first colonies only shipped products to British controlled land to control the world economy. This made a surplus for supply and demand for items like tobacco, wheat, flour and cotton because it grew best in Northern America. Around the eighteen fifties politics needed the country to reach the Pacific Ocean not for land rights, but to control trade with Asia. They figured trade rights with Asia would help create a stronger economy for the US. They were right, last year the US made ninety billion dollars in foreign trade with Asia alone.
