How Is George Justified In Shooting Lennie

I believe george was justified in shooting lennie, george realized he would not want anyone killing lennie for something he did not mean to do. But also george knew if anything was to happen to him lennie would not be able to live on his own.

Lennie and george have been traveling together ever since lennie's aunt clara died, she asked george to watch after lennie because he's not that intelligent and he gets himself into quite a lot of trouble on his own.

When george and lennie was working in weed, lennie had seen this girl with a pretty red dress on, all he wanted to do was feel the dress but the grabbed it when she started screaming and it ripped her dress and the girl went back into town and told the people lennie rapped her when really he just got scared and held on when she screamed. So they had to leave weeds and go work some place else.
She was told to leave lennie alone because curly intimidated by him because he was a big guy and he was little. So when curley's wife got lennie alone she told him to pet her head and well he did and he petted it hard so she said stop and started screaming lennie doesn't know his own strength so he covered her mouth and threw her around and broke her neck.curly walked in after lennie left and told the other guys then went to get his gun george ran in and then ran out when everyone went searching for lennie before they found him.

I think that because these series of events is why george is justified in shooting lennie, yes it was a hard decision but lennie was not capable of doing anything on his own, and he got himself in this position where george had no other choice but to because he was already going to be shot any way by curly . so he did the job before anyone else
