The fear amongst the people of a kingdom, when a new king comes to the throne, is whether he will be good and just or greedy and cruel. Imagine the nation in waiting as the new king ascended the throne. Would the king be good and wise? The nation of England needed a king who would care for the concerns and welfare of the people, and to the happiness of the land, Henry V was just the king that was needed. Being a young king, his life was still often wrapped around pleasure seeking activities. Yet, unlike other young rulers, Henry V took his mantle of a monarch seriously. It was his profession, and he was determined to see it done well. While he was immature in some areas of his life, Henry V fit the expectations of a good king, one that was sacrificial, motivated, and not only a consultant, but a brother to the kingdom. Henry would rather preserve his people than to rush into battle rashly. “What is it then to me, if impious war, array'd in flames like to the prince of fiends, do, with his smirch'd complexion, all fell feats enlink'd to waste and desolation?
