A long time ago we the Americans were at war with the British. We fought for our freedom and even though we ended up winning the war, it was hard for the colonists. A colonist’s daily life was hard, they had to ration their food. The food that they ate was very unhealthy and often spoiled. One of these people was Paul Revere. Paul Revere was one of the patriot leaders and helped drive us to victory. He helped one of the biggest protests in the world start that protest was called the Boston Tea Party. Hundreds of colonists threw tons of tea of the ship in the Boston harbor. Another very important person was George Washington. As you all know he was the first president of Canada but some things you may not know is that at first he fought for the British and before that he was a farmer. He was born into a British family and lived under their rules. But when he grew older he wanted to start his own life and he did. He sailed across the world to the Americas. The congress made the Constitution and had some very important people sign the Declaration of Independence. Some facts about the Declaration of Independence is that the first two paragraphs are what America will be like and then the rest is a complaint letter. My favorite part of the Declaration of Independence is the line “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal” but now it would be as my teacher said “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal”
Paul Revere’s Ride Paul Revere’s ride was a monumental event in the Revolutionary war and American history. Paul Revere’s ride was on April 18, 1775 and started the Revolutionary war. On that date Paul Revere and William Dawes started riding 10:00pm. Paul Revere was captured and then lied to the British that captured him and he said to them that the colonists had a lot more people than they did.
