Advantages Of The South In The Civil War

English Essay Have you ever wondered what it was like to be in the Civil War? Or how strong or weak the South and North were? Well I explain all of this in my essay. The South had very many strengths including: Guerilla Warfare, good generals, unified groups, skilled soldiers, and the home field advantage .Guerilla Warfare was a “hit and run” tactic that the confederacy used as an attack. For our generals we had General Ulysses Grant. He made the North surrender and helped us win the war. Their army was very unified or together and all of the soldiers stuck together during this war. These soldiers were very skilled and knew where they were going on their turf since they did have the home field advantage. They fought all the wars at home so it made it a lot better advantage to know your surroundings and where weapons are located rather than having to search.(cite 1) The North also had very many advantages such as: one very good general, advanced technology, transportation, money system, and total warfare. They didn’t have as advanced and organized supplies as the union. They were very artsy and all about their crops and not about war so this was one less advantage. They were very unorganized about how and where to put everything. They may have had the home field advantage, but it wasn’t really helpful when all their stuff was everywhere. The Union took down their government and they had to start a new one with their own general.
